(Mitt.) DixonAutoicous. Loose wefts, yellow-green. Stems commonly 50–85 mm long, subpinnately or irregularly branched. Leaves secund or ± erect-spreading, ± curved to falcate or nearly straight, ovate-lanceolate, mostly c. 2–4.3 mm long, (0.8–) 0.9–1.1 mm wide, plane or broadly and loosely inrolled at margins, striolate when dry; apex acuminate; costa mostly ill-defined, mostly c. 2/3 leaf length; margins entire, plane or inrolled, without a border; midlaminal cells vermicular, c. 65–110 μm long, 4–6 μm wide, smooth, becoming wider, c. 9–12 μm wide toward base; alar cells moderately inflated, yellow-brown, forming a triangular group usually extending up to ½ way to costa, gradually grading into basal laminal cells. Seta c. 35–45 (–70) mm long, red-brown, fading to stramineous when dried, smooth. Capsule inclined to horizontal, short-cylindric, strongly curved, c. 3–3.5 mm long. Operculum conic.
