Rhizome erect or creeping, covered with scales. Fronds narrow, simple or pinnate, sometimes with hairs but without scales. Lamina thin and translucent to leathery or fleshy. Sori linear to oval, in single row on each side of midvein, often acutely angled to it, or if fronds pinnate, with one sorus per lobe, without indusium.
12 species occuring in temperate regions in the southern hemisphere, 7 in Australia, 4 in Victoria.
