Stems to 2 m high; taproot becoming swollen. Flowers in clusters of up to 8 within the inflorescence. Flowers mostly spring.
VVP, GipP, OtP, HSF. Occasionally found along riverbanks near settlements.
Cultivars of this variety are grown as food plants including Beetroot, Sugarbeet and Silverbeet.
