Erect, strigose annual to c. 1.2 m high; stems much-branched, rigid, striate. Leaf-lamina c. ovate, 2.5–8 cm long, 2–3-pinnate; leaflets ovate-oblong with c. oblong lobes; petiole usually shorter than lamina, base sheathing and scarious. Umbels leaf-opposed and terminal; peduncle to 13 cm long; bract 0 or 1, rarely more, to c. 5 mm long; rays 3–6(–7), to 30 mm long; bracteoles linear, to 4 mm long, acute; pedicels to 3.5 mm long. Petals white; stamens yellow. Fruit ovoid, 2.5–3.5(–5) mm long, mericarps all similar and long-bristly. Flowers late spring and summer.
VVP, GipP, EGU, HSF, OtR. Native to Europe. An uncommon weed found in disturbed, usually winter-wet sites. Mostly in the Woori Yallock, Ringwood, Montrose, Greensborough areas, but with an easterly outlier at Buchan).
