Orthoceras
Terrestrial glabrous herbs, arising from more or less ovoid tubers, elongated at end. Leaves several, basal, linear; flowering stem with 2 or 3 membranous scales at base. Flowers few, rather distant, in terminal raceme; pedicels very short, column uppermost; dorsal sepal broad, incurved, contracted at base, hooded; lateral sepals much longer, narrow-linear, spreading laterally; petals sessile, short, erect, often oblong or hooded. Labellum recurved, 3-lobed; middle lobe contracted at base, much longer than lateral lobes; margins entire; callus large and fleshy, at base of lamina. Column short, winged.
2 named species, 1 from south-eastern Australia the other occurring only in New Zealand.
