(L.) Lassen Crown VetchErect or ascending perennial herb to c. 80 cm tall; branches virtually glabrous. Leaves imparipinnate; leaflets usually 11–27, oblong to elliptic, mostly 10–20 mm long, 2–7 mm wide, terminal leaflet largest, glabrous, entire, apices obtuse to emarginate, mucronate, midvein prominent; stipules linear, 1–5 mm long, membranous. Inflorescences mostly 10–16-flowered; peduncles mostly 4–7 cm long. Pedicels c. 3–4 mm long; calyx c. 2 mm long, virtually glabrous, teeth shorter than calyx tube; corolla 8–15 mm long; standard pink-purple; wings whitish; keel whitish with a purple tip. Pod 12–50 mm long, c. 1.5 mm wide, 4-angled, beak filiform, 2–5 mm long, articles 3–9, 5–8 mm long; seeds ovoid, c. 3 mm long, brown. Flowers mainly Nov.–Feb.
