Rhizome long-creeping, scaly. Lamina once pinnate with deeply lobed pinnae (almost 2-pinnate), basal pinnae not or little reduced in length; midveins with flat, thin scales; veins all free, often forked, all running to margin. Sori round, in one row either side of midrib, away from pinna margins; indusium kidney-shaped; sporangium with short hairs near annulus; spores spinulose.
4 species world-wide, from tropical and temperate regions; 1 occurring in Australia.
