Thelypteridaceae
Diverse group of moderately large, mainly terrestrial ferns. Rhizome erect or creeping; scales sparse, usually fringed with fine hairs. Lamina oblong-lanceolate, once pinnate, rarely 2–3-pinnate; pinnae deeply lobed, the lowermost two often reduced in length; hairs small, some glandular; veins mostly free, pinnately arranged in each pinna and lobe. Sori roundish, borne individually on veins, away from margin; indusium kidney-shaped, usually hairy, or rarely, absent; spores bilateral.
15 genera; 10 represented in Australia, 4 in Victoria.
