Leaves obovate, 1.9–2.5 mm long, (0.6–) 0.9–1.2 mm wide, concave adaxially; costa ending c. 4 cells below base of arista; apex acuminate, forming a slender yellow arista. Seta 3.5–5 mm long. Capsule narrowly pyriform-cylindric, 1.9–2.3 mm long. Operculum conic. Peristome double; endostome rudimentary with isolated segments to 60 μm above rim. Spores coarsely gemmate, 27–36 μm diameter.
Gold. Recorded twice in Victoria: near Bendigo on bare ground in mallee and near Port Campbell. Also WA, SA and NSW.
