Two varieties, only Leucopogon microphyllus var. pilibundus recorded in Victoria. Leucopogon microphyllus var. microphyllus occurs further north in New South Wales and Queensland. This variety is distinguished by the absence of hairs on leaves, and relatively short, erect corolla lobes.
