In an effort to deal with the high number of requests to VicFlora we have
moved the maps into a new subdomain. If the maps do not work, it might be
that your browser is still trying to connect to the old map server.
Clearing the browser's cache should clear that up. We hope that this
change, together with other changes we made in the last few weeks, will

Sparsely tufted, hairy annuals. Leaves flat, ligule membranous. Inflorescence a dense, ovoid panicle. Spikelets 1-flowered; glumes 2, persistent, 1-nerved, hairy, narrow and tapered to awn-like points; lemma 5-nerved, bilobed at apex, each lobe terminating in a slender awn, with a longer awn arising between the lobes.
A monotypic genus native to the Mediterranean but widely naturalized.
