L. Cut-leaf MignonetteSprawling to erect perennial, to 80 cm high; glabrous or scabrous-papillose. Basal leaves usually entire, more or less petiolate. Stem leaves pinnately lobed; lateral lobes 3–7, 0.5–6 cm long, 1–7 mm wide, sometimes with secondary lobes. Bracts caducous; pedicels 2–6 mm long; sepals 6, linear, 2–4 mm long, deciduous; petals 5, pale yellow, larger petals deeply 3-lobed, central lobe linear, lateral lobes broadly falcate, other petals variously incised; stamens 14–18; filaments deciduous. Capsule oblong, 8–13 mm long, 3-toothed, contracted below summit, ribs papillose; seed smooth, shiny. Flowers Sep.–Feb.
MuM, VVP, GipP, OtP, WaP, Gold, CVU, EGL, HNF. Also naturalised WA, SA, Qld, NSW. Native to Mediterranean region, Asia Minor. Weed of crops and disturbed sites; probably more widespread than records indicate.
