Annual herbs, glabrous. Leaves entire. Inflorescence a raceme. Sepals erect; petals with claw about as long as expanded portion; stamens 6; ovary sessile. Fruit elongate (more than 3 times as long as broad), dehiscent, angled, beaked; stigma capitate, entire to notched; valves with prominent midrib; seeds in 1 row per locule.
7 species m the Mediterranean and central Europe to central Asia; 1 species established in Australia.
