Sprawling to prostrate herb to c. 40 cm high, with tap-root poorly or moderately developed. Mid-stem leaves 0.4–5 cm long, undivided or pinnatisect, fleshy and succulent (drying wrinkled). Peduncles glabrous; involucre 4.0–7.0 mm long; bracts mostly c. 13, with apex brown, purple or unpigmented; stereome fleshy and succulent; bracteoles 6–10, narrow-ovate, 1.5–2.5 mm long, 0.8–1.5 mm wide, with margin glabrous or hairy. Cypselas 2.0–3.0 mm long; hairs of cypselas of ray florets mostly exceeding pappus-ring. Flowers Dec.–May.
GleP, Brid, VVP, GipP, OtP, WaP, EGL, OtR. Also WA, SA, Tas. Occurs on rocky (often limestone) and sandy sites along the coast west of Cape Otway.
