Woody climbers or epiphytes. Leaves opposite, unequal. Flowers axillary, solitary; bracteoles under calyx herbaceous; sepals 5, more or less free to base; corolla 5-lobed, somewhat 2-lipped, lobes obtuse; stamens 4; stigma 2-lobed. Fruit a succulent berry, indehiscent.
