Erect virgate shrub to c. 2 m high; branchlets few, terete, finely striate, glabrous; flowering branchlets 1.5–2.5 mm diam., spike-like. Leaves alternate, triangular, 1–3 mm long, appressed, sessile, apex weak, dry, caducous. Inflorescences 1-flowered, crowded; pedicels c. 0.5 mm long; bract leaf-like; bracteoles 8–12 per flower, upper 4 closely subtending flower, margins entire or dentate. Flowers cylindric; tepals 5, triangular-ovate, 1–1.5 mm long, obtuse, white, appressed when dry, persistent; stamens without appendages, anthers subsessile, lobes more or less equal. Drupe globose, 2–3 mm long, reddish. Flowers Sep.–Jan.
LoM, MuM, Wim. In Victoria apparently confined to woodlands and mallee scrubs of the western part of the Little Desert. Previous records of this species from Wyperfeld National Park were based on misdetermined specimens.
