Procumbent to erect herb; stems to 30 cm long, little-branched, glabrous or with scattered retrorse scabrous hairs. Leaves and stipules sessile, obovate below, lanceolate to elliptic above, 5–15 mm long, 1–4 mm wide, acute to acuminate, glabrous or with a few antrorse hairs mainly on veins and margins. Inflorescences 4–10-flowered, surrounded by 8–10 leaf-like bracts. Corolla 4–5 mm long, pink to lilac. Fruit obconical, 2–5 mm long, crowned by persistent calyx. Flowers Sep.–Jan.
