Panaetia tepperi
(F.Muell.) JeanesErect to ascending, few-branched annual to c. 15 cm high. Leaves cobwebbed (usually more densely so below), basal ones distinctly rosetted, elliptic, 0.5–2 cm long, to c. 10 mm wide; cauline leaves lanceolate, 0.5–2 cm long, to c. 7 mm wide, acute. Capitula campanulate, 3–5 mm diam., in loose cymes or rarely solitary; peduncles mostly 1–4 cm long; involucral bracts linear to ovate, greenish with scarious margins, entire, glabrous, shiny; intermediate bracts 3–4 mm long, claw c. equal to lamina; inner bracts entirely scarious-hyaline. Florets all tubular, pale yellow; outer florets 10–20, female or sometimes sterile; inner florets 10–25, bisexual. Cypselas 0.5–1 mm long; pappus bristles 5–10, free, 2–3 mm long. Flowers Aug.–Oct.
