Perennial herb to 30 cm high, with dense white indumentum. Leaves lanceolate, to 5 cm long and 2.5 cm wide, lobate at base, mucronulate; petiole 5–8 mm long. Flowers c. 18 mm long, c. 22 mm diam.; pedicels 8–10 mm long. Corolla blue to purple; tube c. 6 mm long; lobes oblanceolate, 8–9 mm long, 2.5–4 mm wide. Corona forming a tube c. 5 mm long, c. 4 mm diam.; lobes lanceolate, c. 10 mm long, c. 5 mm wide, overtopping stamina column. Follicles 10–11 cm long, 0.9–1 cm wide. Flowers Nov.–Apr.
VVP. Also naturalised Qld, NSW. Native to Argentina. Recorded growing over basalt rocks in Sunbury, north of Melbourne.
