There are 2 subspecies; Hyalosperma glutinosum subsp. venustum (S.Moore) Paul G.Wilson is confined to Western Australia and differs in its longer (>5 mm) inner involucral bracts and corollas that are more deeply cleft than the more widespread Hyalosperma glutinosum subsp. glutinosum.
