Tufted, stoloniferous perennial herb to 40 cm high. Stems sparsely cottony with glandular and eglandular hairs. Leaves numerous, narrowly oblong, to 5 cm long, with short glandular hairs, sometimes cottony on lower surface. Capitula in compact or loose corymbs, rarely solitary. Involucre hemispherical; outer bracts golden; intermediate bracts c. 4 mm long, ciliate, woolly-ciliate near base. Female florets with (3–)4–7 pappus bristles; bristles shortly ciliate near apex.
OtP, EGU. Also NSW. Common in dry open woodland and grassy woodland in East Gippsland.
