Chrysocephalum semipapposum subsp. semipapposum
Variably rhizomatous, often aromatic perennial. Stems and leaves sericeous or appressed-tomentose, often viscid, but not obviously glandular. Leaves of main stems linear to very narrowly oblanceolate, to 4 cm long, 1.5 mm wide, upper surfaces glabrescent to glabrous, lower surfaces more or less white-sericeous; margins mostly recurved to revolute; leaves of non-flowering stems typically shorter (to c. 2 cm long) than those of flowering stems and with less recurved margins. Capitula usually numerous in a compact hemispherical conflorescence. Female florets with 0–7 pappus bristles.
