As presently circumscribed Stellaria multiflora includes alpine, montane and inland morphological variants whose habits range from condensed matted plants to erect slender herbs, and the capsule valves range from straight to markedly revolute. Three of the more distinct forms have been recognised as subspecies. However, this complex requires further analysis (Miller & West 2012).
