MuM, GleP, Brid, VVP, VRiv, GipP, OtP, WaP, Gold, CVU, GGr, DunT, NIS, EGL, EGU, WPro, HSF, HNF, OtR, Strz, VAlp. Also WA, SA. Introduced into many countries as a garden plant and often persisting as a garden escape.
The southern European Arum italicum (Italian Arum, Aaron's Rod) also tends to persist in older gardens. It can be distinguished from Z. aethiopica by its sagittate leaves which have whitish veins, its yellow-green hooded bracts and by its scarlet berries.
