Branchlets, adult leaves, buds and immature fruit pruinose. Fruit 4–7 mm long, 4–7 mm diam.; pedicles 2–5 mm long. Flowers early autumn.
Gold. Also SA, NSW. Restricted to the area bounded by Avoca, Wedderburn, Bendigo and Elmore, occurring on better soils on flats, and near drainage areas in poor rocky country.
Plants at the western limit of this subspecies (eg. St Arnaud, Tottington, Bolangum, Boort and Jeffcott Range) may be atypical in habit, bark and fruit size. However, all these forms are included in the typical subspecies due to the distinctly pruinose seedlings and adult structures.
