Leaves narrow-linear to oblong, (22–)35–65 mm long, 3–10(–13) mm wide; base attenuate to cuneate, sometimes broadly so; margins serrate to crenate, sometimes recurved and subentire, or with only a few scattered lobes along the length of the margin; petiole 2–4 mm long. Flowers Sep.–Nov.
EGL, EGU, HSF. Restricted to near-coastal areas of East Gippsland (Cabbage Tree Creek to Mallacoota), usually near streams and swamps or on sandy rises.
This subspecies has sometimes been confused with O. asterotricha due to its lobed, more or less linear leaves. Olearia asterotricha is generally distinguished by the nontuberculate-based hairs on the upper leaf surface.
