Vittadinia blackii

Perennial subshrub, 10–30 cm high; young stems with sparse, subappressed eglandular hairs and sessile or shortly stalked glands, older stems glabrescent or with eglandular hairs only. Leaves narrow-linear, 6–16 mm long, c. 0.5 mm wide, grooved above, surfaces with scattered, inclined simple hairs, or subglabrous; apex acute. Involucral bracts linear or narrowly elliptic, the longest 6–9 mm long, glabrous or with a few appressed simple hairs and/or minute glandular hairs, margins often shortly ciliate; ray florets violet to pale mauve, ligules 1.5–3 mm long. Cypsela very narrowly cuneate, 4–5.5 mm long, flattened, marginal ribs glabrous, facial ribs continuing to summit, with scattered, inclined, club-shaped hairs, glands absent; pappus bristles barbellate, the longest 5.5–8 mm long.
