Vittadinia
Perennial or annual herbs or subshrubs with an indumentum of short gland-tipped hairs mixed with longer septate hairs. Leaves alternate, simple to deeply dissected. Capitula solitary, terminal; involucral bracts in several rows. Ray florets female, in 1–several rows, corolla dilated near base; disc florets bisexual, corolla usually shorter than pappus, dilated near base; stamens attached in upper part of corolla, anthers loosely coherent, with slender membranous terminal appendages; style branches papillose, c. linear. Cypsela obovate, oblanceolate or cuneate, flattened and with a marginal ridge in most species, often ribbed on faces; pappus bristles simple, barbellate or subplumose, 1–many-seriate.
28 species, mostly Australian; 1 each in New Caledonia and New Zealand.
