Erect simple or sparingly branched, herb to 50 cm high; stems variously woolly or cobwebbed. Leaves woolly or cobwebbed; basal leaves soon withering; cauline leaves linear to linear-lanceolate 2–10(–15) mm wide. Flowers Aug.–Nov.
LoM, GleP, VVP. Occurs also in WA and SA. Confined to south-western Victoria near the lower Glenelg River, apparently in coastal dune scrubland.
The subsp. rugata differs from subsp. glabrata in having woolly or cobebbed stems and leaves and in having generally wider cauline leaves, although there is considerable overlap in the leaf dimensions.
