Erect perennial herb to 35 cm high. Stems slender, silky. Leaves narrowly oblong to narrowly oblanceolate, to 4 cm long, recurved, cottony. Capitula small in irregular corymbs. Involucre to 10 mm long; outer bracts yellow, shortly ciliate; intermediate bracts long-clawed, sparsely glandular near apex. Female florets lacking pappus or rarely with 1 pappus bristle; bristles shortly plumose in upper half, scabrid below.

LoM, MuM, GleP, RobP. Also SA, NSW. Occurs in north-western Victoria, usually on sandy soils, with an outlying occurrence on limestone clifftops along the lower Glenelg River near Nelson in the far south-west.
