Erect simple or sparingly branched, herb to 50 cm high; stems more or less glabrous. Leaves more or less glabrous; basal leaves soon withering; cauline leaves linear to linear-lanceolate 2–5(–10) mm wide. Flowers Sep.–Nov.
LoM, MuM. Occurs also in SA. Confined to north-western Victoria mostly in dune mallee scrub on deep sand.
The subsp. glabrata differs from subsp. rugata in being almost entirely glabrous (or at least glabrescent) and in having generally narrower cauline leaves, although there is considerable overlap in the leaf dimensions.
