Bulb ovoid, 25–30 mm diam. Leaves several, linear, ± flat, 17–35 cm long, 8–12 mm wide, somewhat glaucous. Scape erect, subequal to or exceeding leaves, biconvex. Flower solitary, pale yellow; pedicel bent at near right-angle above the level of attachment of spathe; perianth tube narrowly obconical, 2.0–2.5 cm long; lobes narrowly ovate, 2.5–3.0 cm long, spreading; corona trumpet-shaped, 1.3–2.2 cm long, orange-yellow, the rim crenate-undulate; stamens included within the corona.

Apparently a natural sterile hybrid between N. poeticus L. and N. pseudonarcissus native to France. Widely cultivated, occasionally persisting or spreading from gardens into native habitats in Victoria.
