Siloxerus multiflorus
Nees Small WrinklewortBranches ascending to erect, to c. 5 cm high, with long, straight to tortuous hairs. Leaves linear or lanceolate, 3–8 mm long, c. 0.5 mm wide, glabrous or sparsely hairy. Capitula single or loosely clustered, subtended by a few leaves, individual capitula 2–4 mm diam.; involucral bracts c. 3-seriate, entire, the outermost almost entirely hyaline, the inner with a conspicuous, herbaceous midrib; receptacle ebracteate, flat; florets to c. 25 per capitulum; corolla 4-lobed, greenish-yellow. Cypselas narrowly obovoid, c. 0.7–1 mm long, attached obliquely to the corolla, prominently papillate abaxially; pappus of 7–11 whitish scales c. equal to or longer than the corolla. Flowers Aug.–Nov.
LoM, MuM, Wim, GleP, VVP, VRiv, GipP, OtP, WaP, Gold, CVU, GGr, DunT, NIS, HSF, HNF, OtR, VAlp. Also WA, SA, NSW, Tas. Widespread through dryish lowland woodlands and forests, often on shallow or rocky soils. Absent from the far north-west and far east of Victoria.
