Rorippa gigantea
(Hook.) Garn.-Jones Forest Bitter-cressUsually annual, to 120 cm high, decumbent to erect, glabrous. Leaves sessile (but often narrowed almost to midrib in lower portion), sagittate, oblong to lanceolate, to 12 cm long. Sepals 0.5–3 mm long; petals 2–5 mm long, white; stamens 6. Fruit spreading to horizontal, linear, straight, 12–35 mm long (excluding style), 1.5–2 mm wide; style 2–3 mm long; pedicels horizontal, 3–8 mm long; seeds in 1 row per locule, coat reticulate, mucilaginous when wet (mucilage drying to whitish film). Flowers mostly spring–summer.

The non-pinnate leaves with a sagittate base and the short pedicels readily separate this species from R. dictyosperma.
