Pomaderris virgata

Slender shrub, 2–6 m high; younger branchlets shortly villous, coppery. Leaves lanceolate to narrow-elliptic or oblong, 40–60 mm long, 7–20 mm wide, acute or obtuse, margins recurved, upper surface glabrous, lower surface densely cream- to coppery-villous, hairs on internerves subappressed, those of veins appressed and usually darker; stipules 3–4 mm long, deciduous. Inflorescences pyramidal, 2–7 cm long; bracts deciduous. Flowers yellow; externally villous with subappressed hairs; pedicels 1–2 mm long; hypanthium 1–1.5 mm long; sepals 1.5–2.2 mm long, deciduous; petals absent; disc absent; ovary inferior, summit simple-pubescent, style branched in middle or basal third. Operculum membranous, c. half mericarp length. Flowers Nov.–Dec.
