Limonium australe var. baudinii (Lincz.) A.M.Gray

Kanunnah 4: 118 (2011) APNI

Taxonomic status:Accepted

Occurrence status:Extinct

Establishment means:Native

Threat status:EPBC: vulnerable (VU); Victoria: extinct (x)

Limonium australe var. baudinii differs from L. australe var. australe only in the glabrous calyx. This variety is likely to only occur in Tasmania. A fragment at MEL, apparently collected at Tooradin in 1904, and labelled L. baudinii (syn. L. australe var. baudinii) is mounted on a sheet with L. australe var. australe. It is possible that the L. australe var. baudinii fragment is of Tasmanian origin and was mistakenly mounted with the Victorian specimen.
