Schkuhria pinnata
(Lam.) Kuntze ex Thell. SchkuhriaMuch-branched annual to 50 cm high, sparsely pubescent, glandular-punctate. Leaves pinnate, 1–4 cm long; lobes filiform, to 2 cm long and c. 0.5 mm wide. Capitula many, turbinate, 2–4 mm diam.; involucral bracts c. 5, obovate, mostly 5–7 mm long, glandular, herbaceous with an obtuse scarious apex. Florets glandular, c. as long as involucre; ray floret solitary, ligule 1–2 mm long, yellow; disc florets usually 4–6, yellow. Cypselas 3.5–4.5 mm long, 4-angled, dark brown to black; pappus of c. 8 ovate scales, 1.5–2.5 mm long, membranous, margins lacerate, dark-striate, at least some scales with an apical awn. Flowers Oct.–July.
VRiv, MuF, Gold, NIS. Currently known from near Cobden and a few sites in north-central Victoria, usually on roadsides or in cultivated fields. Native to Chile.
