Plant erect, 15–80 cm high, sometimes branched; hairs stellate. Basal leaves petiolate, oblong, broadly toothed or entire; stem leaves sessile, lanceolate, sagittate, auriculate, toothed to entire. Inflorescence an elongating raceme. Sepals 1.5–2 mm long; petals 2–3 mm long, yellow. Fruit more or less globose, 2–3 mm diam., keeled; surface with rugose, net-like ridges; style c. 1 mm long, readily detached; pedicel 5–12 mm long. Flowers spring–summer.
MuM, Wim, Gold. Also naturalised SA. Europe, Asia. Infrequent weed of disturbed soils in north-west quarter of the State.
This species has distinctive stellate hairs and round, wrinkled fruits.
