Brachyscome goniocarpa
Sond. & F.Muell. Dwarf DaisyProcumbent to erect annual, 1–9 cm high, with eglandular and glandular hairs. Leaves basal and cauline, mainly obovate or somewhat spathulate, 0.5–3 cm long, 1–5 mm wide, entire or more commonly 3–8-lobed apically, dilated basally. Bracts 7–15, 1-seriate, c. equal, elliptic, ovate or obovate, 2.3–3.7 mm long, 0.9–2.5 mm wide, thin, mainly herbaceous but with scarious, minutely denticulate often purplish margins; ligules 1.7–2.7 mm long, white. Cypselas cuneate, distinctly curved, 1.5–2 mm long, 0.9–1.2 mm wide, black, with glandular and eglandular hairs; lateral faces with 2 tuberculate ridges; marginal ribs smooth or one slightly tuberculate; pappus 0.3–0.7 mm long. Flowers Aug.–Oct.
LoM, MuM, Wim, VRiv, MSB, RobP, Gold, GGr, NIS. Also WA, SA. Commonly found in sand or sandy loam in the mallee of the west and north-west but also in taller eucalypt woodland, e.g. at Mt Arapiles.
