3 subspecies; 1 subspecies in Victoria. Centrolepis strigosa subsp. pulvinata occurs on the islands in the east side of Bass Strait and differs from the nominate subspecies by both bracts being glabrous or bearing a few 2–5-celled hairs (instead of 4–8-celled in the nominate subspecies). Centrolepis strigosa subsp. rupestris is endemic to Western Australia and has anthers that become completely exserted above the bracts. Profile for Centrolepis strigosa subsp. strigosa provided under subspecies.
