Acacia genistifolia subsp. genistifolia
Phyllodes rhombic in transverse section or terete, linear, 1–1.5 mm in diameter, 14–26(–40) mm long, <20 times longer than wide, diverging from the stem at 42°–80°(–84°). Flower-heads nearly white to lemon-yellow. Pods with sparse covering of short appressed hairs, 50–80(–100) mm long, 2–7 mm wide. Feb.–Sep.
MuM, Wim, VVP, VRiv, GipP, WaP, Gold, CVU, GGr, NIS, EGL, HSF. Also SA (where possibly now extinct), NSW. In open-forests, often on poor, shallow, rocky soils from west of the Grampians to the north-east (Chiltern area) and east to north-east of Melbourne (Bunyip to Kinglake areas).
Some populations of north-east of Melbourne (e.g. Panton Hill, Arthurs Creek areas) include plants that approach A. genistifolia subsp. attenuata, but usuallly mixed with typical forms of subsp. genistifolia. They have been referred to the typical subspecies (Webb et al. 2021).
